Complex Upper Limb Surgery – International Webinar Series
Pincer Clinic proudly participated in an international academic program focused on complex upper limb conditions, hosted in collaboration with global orthopaedic leaders. The series brought together specialists from multiple countries to discuss advanced approaches to wrist, hand, and upper limb reconstruction.
Session 2 – Tendon Transfer Techniques in Upper Limb
This session centered around tendon transfer surgeries used to restore movement after nerve injuries or muscle loss. Key areas discussed included:
- How tendon transfers help regain lost wrist and finger function
- Planning and selection of donor tendons
- Rehabilitation protocols after surgery

The meeting provided a comprehensive view of how tendon transfers can dramatically improve upper limb function when primary repair is not possible.
Session 3 – Focus on Distal Radius Injuries
This session explored challenging wrist fractures and their impact on joint stability and function. Surgeons from across the world shared real clinical cases, highlighting:

This session explored complex soft-tissue defects of the upper limb and their impact on function and recovery. Surgeons from across the world presented real clinical cases, highlighting:
Challenging hand and forearm soft-tissue wounds
Flap options for coverage and reconstruction
Techniques to preserve mobility and protect vital structures
Strategies to prevent complications and support long-term functional outcomes
The conversation included insights from experienced faculty members and interactive discussions on selecting the right reconstructive approach for each case.
